Wagner Free Institute of Science is a natural history museum in Philadelphia that contains hundreds of animal and nature specimens. The institute is nearly unchanged from its 1855 founding and still upholds its mission to providing free education to the public. The fictional rebrand integrates unique typography with vintage scientific diagrams in bespoke, tactile collages that feel natural and creative, as if the audience is sorting through archival images by hand.

This allows the imagery to demonstrate the rich variety of specimens that are featured in the museum, as well as solidifying the museum’s positioning as an educational resource for adults who study science and natural history, while also an engaging and cool museum for those who just want to experience an interesting place.

When necessary, the design system can be simplified down to its essential pieces.
